Stochastic Vector Quantization Using Neural Networks.
Ph.D. dissertation, 1996, Stanford University, Stanford, CA.
My dissertation research concerned a novel approach to
vector quantization using a method based on neural
networks. This method may be applicable to video,
image, or speech coding. Other problems which I
researched in the course of my graduate work were speech recognition,
optical character recognition, and handwriting recognition.
